"Baikal
Wind - 2003" Ice Yacht Racing Cup:
The Time and
the Place:
* The dates of the competition are from the 26th of March through
the 2nd of April 2003;
* The races are conducted on the ice of lake Baikal not far from
Listvyanka settlement.Participants
* The competitions are open. Everybody who own or rent ice sailing
yacht and are allowed to drive ice sailing yacht can participate
in championship. Insurance is obligatory. Insurance coverage should
be not less than 500 000 EU;
* Age restriction for participation is 14 years old;
* Registration deadline date is the February 15, 2003;
* The registration and starting fee is 220 US dollars. The registration
cost besides traditionally applied amounts and considering comparatively
undeveloped infrastructure of international tourism covers:
* Transfers of the registered participants on arrival/departure
in Irkutsk;
* Transportation and ice yacht delivery from the Irkutsk airport
to the competition location on lake Baikal;
* Technical services;
* Four meals (lunch during the 4 days);
* Additional equipment and gear required for holding the competition
(signs, flags etc.).
Program:
* Individual championship;
* All races will be sailed in compliance with the specifications,
Constitution and By-Laws of the International DN Ice Yacht Racing
Association;
* The competitions consist of 7 races:
* Minimum number of races is 3;
* Not more than 4 races are held a day;
* The Race Committee determines the competition's schedule depending
on ice, wind and weather conditions.
Score System:
* To determine the winner a low point scoring system shall be used.
Yachts shall be given points for finishing as follows:

And etc.
* Did Not Start (DNS) Scoring: A DNS point score is equal to the
number of the Fleet Size plus one. (i.e. 5 boat fleet size = DNS
6 points);
* Did Not Finish (DNF) Scoring and Disqualified (DSQ) Scoring shall
be awarded points corresponding to one position greater than the
number of yachts starting in the race;
* The winner should collect the least number of points in the races
excluding the worst one. In case of equal number of points the winner
will be determined according to the result of the last race. If
4 or fewer races are held, then all races are taken into account;
* The main winner and prize winners shall be awarded with "Baikal
Wind Ice Yacht Cups", other special awards on behalf of the
Organizing Committee, as well as all other participants will get
special gifts/souvenirs from the Race Committee.
