Cinemas
in St. Petersburg
Usually
the tickets cost from 50 to 200 roubles - $2 to $8 (the cheapest
on the weekdays in the morning, the most expensive in the evening
and on the weekends). Most of them have student's discount,
so don't
forget your ISIC (student id) card, also try to look through local
newspapers for discount coupons ("Afisha", "Time Out", "Aktivist", "Pulse",
"Dosug" magazines etc.). Though cinemas are popular,
usually they are not filled with people, so if there are tickets
for different
prices you can buy ticket for cheapest place and seat in the VIP
zone (it's where the good seats are - middle) if there are free
seats. Most of the cinemas in St. Petersburg show dubbed movies
(in Russian - "дублирован" - dub`lirovan). Very rarely
the movies are in original language and subtitled ("sub`titry"
- "субтитры" in Russian).
