Cinemas in St. Petersburg

Most of the cinemas in St. Petersburg and in Russia in general show dubbed movies (in Russian - "дублирован" - dub`lirovan). The tickets usually cost from 100 to 300 roubles - $3 to $10. Some of the cinemas have student's discount, so don't forget your ISIC (student id) card. You can find several movie theatres along Nevsky Prospect, on the last floors of shopping malls and other parts of the city. Also some clubs (for examples, The Place and Griboedov) and cafes (Coffee Station) have free movie screening. Every year St. Peterburg hosts several film festivals: Kinoforum and Festival of Festivals just to name a few.

Avrora (Aurora). It is the oldest cinema hall in St. Petersburg, but no worries, it has been completely rennovated in the beginning of the 2000s. Avrora has reasonable prices and good selection of movies. Actually, quiet often you can find films in original language shown in this cinema theatre. However, we would recommend you to avoid their cafe, it's overpriced and just not good.
