Recommended Russian and Ukrainian cuisine restaurants in St. Petersburg.

Na Zdorovie Restaurant. If you want to try the most delicious Russian food in authentic interior, then Na Zdorovie is the place to go. The

meals are exquisite, although the plates slightly small.
The restaurant can as well be a museum of Russian history: the interior comprises Soviet relics mixed with traditional Russian crafts. The waiters are very polite, the menus are both in Russian and English.
The cuisine is both Russian and Sovietic, we can recommend especially "pshyonnaya" porridge, potatoes, baked Sudak fish, and Mors (traditional berry drink) that is made in the restaurant.
A dinner costs $15-$20. Credit cards accepted (Visa, MC).

Idiot Cafe - Bar.
A perfect place to share some intimacy or to chill out calmly with friends on rainy summer evenings. You'll feel the atmosphere when you'll walk down the steps to the cosy cafe, located in
the basement of a house on the canal: a warm 50s style interior, wooden furniture, antique lamps and vinyl players, calm, slightly muted jazz music, soft sofas to melt on, and very friendly waiters, great, tasty and nutritious food. There are 5 different vaulted rooms including an art gallery and a library with second hand English

Shinok Ukrainian restaurant. Considered to be the best Ukrainian restaurant in St. Petersburg. The food is quite tasty and the portions are hearty. Another advantage

is that the restaurant is opened 24 hours a day. The interior is traditional Ukrainian: rough tables and chairs, waiters wearing national costumes. The prices are quite low: $10 for a full meal.
