An opinion (mine) on Russian women.
Remember that there are different kind of people, those who are born after the collapse and those were born under the socialism and have memories from that time.
Older (normally) are more empathic, generous and openhearted that younger generations that have seen to much of materialism.
But talking about women, I know that normally Russian women don't want to compromise their male partners, so they try to stay in the background and just look pretty. Even if their boyfriend/lover/husband is a no-body but they have two red university diplomas themselves, they NEVER try to show that they are superior.
The habit of dressing up is to show respect for their hosts or partners and is called for compliments. So guys, if your lady comes dressed as a princess - always tell she is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!
A final advice, if you try to fuzz with a Russian woman - don't. She will propably give you a lessen you never will forget. Rememebr that you are dealing with the most beautiful women on this planet,a nd most intelligent as well. |

| What is the difference between the Russian and American version of Married With Children? I had seen clips of it on CNN. I hope Russian women don't be like babushkas again. Also,I rarely see any Russian woman that looks good like Helen Mirren. |

When people grow old, they grow old. Eiother you do it with some dignity like the Russian babushkas or you end up like a freakmonster from the plastic surgeon's knife.
Some claim that Russian women are among the most beautiful on this planet, because they are a mixture of so many nationalities - bring up the best from each of them.
I often notice that on (Swedish) TV we are either shown the babushkas, almost homeless after 20 years of super-capitalism, selling vegetables on a market, or young prostitutes from Moscow nightclubs.
I think you actually have to go there yourself and watch. We live very close to Russia, but I have almost never heard or seen anything on TV that matches what I have experienced in Russia. |

| Russian women are very beautiful and very intelligent and yes distinguished...but there are lots of women in the world who are...and in the USA there are plenty too...and there are plenty who are also very independent and self reliant. Russia will experience this too in the near future or perhaps already is. We all have our preferences or some of us prefer all...the fact is when we mmet and or see a beautiful women...the fact is she is exactly that and it makes no difference where she is from |

| Beauty is subjective. What you may think is beautiful, I might disagree and vice versa. I've met many Russian women who were I guess not physically beautiful, but once I got to talk with them and to know them better and their life experiences they were beautiful all around. That goes for everyone else I meet too. I just don't fine women who feel they have to put tons of makeup on to look beautiful, Russian or anyone else. |

I view make up as being kind of a mask...yes Stephen B you are right...there are all sorts of features and characteristics that define beauty for each of us |

Living some 500 miles from Russia I still find that many people have so many strange ideas about Russia and the Russian people. On TV we only see old women - babushki - or prostitutes. We never see real people.
I guess it's like getting all info about American people (women) from Sex and the City.
Spending a week, or yet better, a month or much better, a year in Russia will definitely alter the view of anyone.
(OT: I had many prejudices about USA and its inhabitants but spent 3 weeks on the road (Chicago-Houston-Chattanooga-NY-Chicago) and was so surprised that the people we met had so much in common with Russian people: openhearted, generous, obzhitelnie. Unlike Swedes.) |

that's good to hear and from my experience...people the world over are generally the same...we want the same. Yes Americans are in fact very good people |

I liked the way of the old soviet women who were pleasant and nice, not Designer labeled fashion police princesses they have now.
American women and Americans in general think that everything is supperior in their world. I have 6 figure salary, beautiful home that is worth quite of bit and great life, but every American thinks that I should give this up and go live in a trailer with them, because it is better life in the good ole US of A. Only thing that maybe more stupid if you invited a fashionable Russian lady to live in a bus in middle of the woods. What kind of idiot would do such a thing like that ?  |
