Ok, this may seem to be a really stupid question
Is there a specific (or a easy) way of finding a place by its address. I finally found the street of an address on a map, the problem is that the road goes over a river and slighty changes direction. The other problem is that I cannot tell how big the street is (or the Cityfor that matter) on the map and I dont want to be walking around five miles in the wrong direction.
I know that in Chicago, IL there is an easy way to do this. There is a starting point in the middle of the city with the intersection 0, 0. If the address is 700, based on the direction, it will be 7 streets away.
Is there anything like this (or any other "code") for St. Petersburg?

Am I wrong with this, or is it confusing?

Yeah, there's no easy way to tell. If the address includes the nearest metro station then that often helps. Otherwise, use this site:

http://old.eatlas.ru/english/default.htm

Which pinpoints the exact building on the map.

Great, That helps me a lot.
Thanks!!
The only thing is that it says it doesn't find the address, But I think I was able to find it on my own.
One more question: In the address it gives the street name then two numbers ( Street #-#). What do those numbers mean?
I read somewhere that there are suppose to be three, (I think... street number - building number - apartment number) but this one only has two and I don't if I even read it right.

I prefer to use this map:
http://www.kartaspb.ru/

Or you can also search the address on www.yandex.ru
Than go to the map.. Works also very good.

If there is only two numbers, it's usually street/house number first, and apartment number after.
