My wife prefer that I go with her to perfume store and simply pay for perfume that she select. I think womens love to walk between all these scents and brands talk with consultant, painfully select one between 10 scents, then get it for "free".
About Chanel. I seen a girls which get unhappy when someone make them incorrect perfume as gift, but I never seen a girl which get unhappy after something like Chanel ¹5, Chance or Mademoiselle.

In Russia everybody known that France is the best producer of perfumes and wines. In Russia word "France" is brand itself. |

I was in the Mall a few days ago, testing some perfumes, the Chanel "Mademoiselle" is fantastic. I bought this perfume. I always like the original scent, but the Mademoiselle, I would suggest for a gift.... |

BTW, jo jo. How much you paid for it? Volume and type (scented water, etc)? I have suspiction that our prices greatly exagerated. We have upcoming "International womans day" here and it looks like their sales will grow up. |

USD $150 or more for same thing here. Hopefully eventually we crawl into WTO and such prices will be lowered.

Yeah. I had an example yesterday... instead of good oak broom and VIP apartments in a bath she bought buttons from Swarovsky for a fur coat.
NB! for author of thread. If you want really impress her buy fur coat for her. End of season, prices falling. Beautiful short fur coat for USD $1200 reality.
