Hey everyone,
Long story short, I love to travel. I've gone to Japan twice, (Tokyo) and I am very interested in seeing the rest of the world. Russia, is my next favorite location to visit.
I've researched many countries in my time, many. Russia is by far the most mythical location yet. I'll read things like - "Russia: The most dangerous country on earth - skinheads" to hearing the exact opposite. That, or, "Russian women want your money, life and green card" to websites like, (russianwomen.wordpress.net) that says the exact opposite.

I have concluded the best way to find answers is to go there myself. I researched Japan several years before actually going and nothing that I previously read could prepare me for what I was about to see.

That all being said,
I heard Moscow and St.Petersburg are nice places, but I would love to see remote Russia. Are there any benefits to this? I really was disappointed i myself in the fact I never went and sought out Japanese villages.
I don't speak Russia, & I'm from Alaska.

Any ideas are welcome! any city, towns, suggestion, russian advise. Thank you so much!

Josh

What do you expect as a result of your travel? To see how people live there ( like in zoo, provided you don't speak Russian and people in 'remote Russia' are unlikely to speak English ) ? To see some traditional tourists stuff ( golden ring - Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Suzdal, etc )?

Volgograd is great with the huge Mother Russia Statute

Vladivlastok has many Japanese charcaters and Barnaul is mountinness beauty. Novgorod has amazing Russian hertitage.

It is like asking I am going to the USA is there anything interesting to see?

Narrow it down a bit.
