How to get to Barnaul from Novosibirsk. I thought there would be a train connection but here at WTR the destination Barnaul is not available.
Any advice? Bus or ferry (Lake Ob)?

Here is the Novosibirsk Bus Terminal timetable.

There are no ferries. You could reach Barnaul also by so called "suburban trains" making one transfer. But it's not comfortable.

I found trains 821 & 625. 3 1/2 & 4 1/2 hours respectively. Novosibirsk Gl to Barnaul. I hope you were using www.poezda.net .

The Altai Express leaving at 17.08 localtime takes about three hours to Barnaul. Buses are slow, Novosibirsk rush hour traffic! I recommend Barnaul warmly, nice place, beautiful buildings.
When buying tickets you need the passport!
