I'm interested to know how Russians typically celebrate the May Day holiday. Also is there a greeting that is commonly used on this day?

I think the 1st of May for Russian is usually added day off.And a lot of people spend this time to go to the Dacha or picnic=)...More important of course Victory Day!

Спасибо for your reply elizza. : )

Isn't Victory Day coming up very soon this Friday (May 9th)? I guess this means that a lot of Russians will be enjoying a nice long holiday weekend. Cool

Would it be appropriate to use a greeting such as the following with my Russian friends during this holiday weekend ?

С Маыскими праздниками! (S Mayskimi prazdnikami!)

"Happy May Holidays!"
