During the past six days I have seen numerous reports on Sky Sports about the "British Invasion of Moscow" that will take place in two weeks time. As many as 50,000 English football fans are expected to travel to Moscow for the Champions League Final match between Manchester United and Chelsea that will be played on May 21st.

All the news I have seen so far has been from the British perspective. I'd be interested to know more about what has been in the Russian news about this historic all-England Champions League Final. I'd be curious to know if the residents of Moscow are being advised to stay away from the area surrounding the Luzhniki Stadium on the day of the match?

The Russian Champions Zenit St Petersburg have won the UEFA Cup in Manchester, England one week before the "All England" CL Final will be played in Moscow:

Zenit St Petersburg struck a blow for the new era of Russian football last night, lifting the Uefa Cup thanks to goals by Igor Denisov and Konstantin Zyrianov in a match illuminated by the skills of Andrei Arshavin.

I live in Moscow and am very curious to look at English fans. Moscow authorities dont ban the stadium area on May 21. At least I did hear about it. There will be a lot of militia even mounted one. Such matches are always a great view even if it is the national championship but this will be extra. How will the fans of the teams arrive? Seperately or together? 21 of May will be a very interesting day for Muscovites as, I think, the English fans will come on 19-20 May and will roam about the city. Great.

Drunk English football fans are not so nice...
Actually they mess everywhere they go but this time it is in Russia where Police is much tougher than in western Europe, so let's see. But I will not be surprised after a drinking evening that a lot of fights starts in Moscow.

I believe in your case the most acceptable variant is to contact football fans of Spartak, Moscow. This team isvery popular in Russia and its fans are very numerous. They get together and walk and shout their slogans, the most popular of whic is Spartak is a chamtion. Somtimes they are aggressive but mostly these are just teenagers who want some fun. Contact info: phone +7 (495) 980 8640 / 980 8645, e-mail: fanclub@spartak.com.
Regards,
S.

Thanks for kind offer but I dont think than there is something which is hard to buy in Moscow NOW. By the way I am not a big football fan I just help those who ask me for. Contact Spartak guys and they will certainly ask for something.
Best regards,
S.
