Hello all! I have scanned through many topics on this and countless other sites. When it comes to a Russian and a foreigner getting married, it's usually a foreign man marrying a Russian woman (I said usually, not always). Well I'm one of those "not usual" cases. I'm a British citizen (from Bermuda) and my boyfriend is Russian. My case is a little complicated but maybe someone on here can make it a little more simple for me!! Would be great!! Smile I will list my case:
My boyfriend and I want to marry in either my country or somewhere in Europe (EU)...and then we want to live in Russia together.
#1: Will our marriage be legal and/or recognised in Russia? If no, than how do we make it legal/recognised in Russia?
#2: Will I still need to have a Visa to live with him in Russia? If yes, than what Visa?
#3: I have a child (baby girl) and my Russian boyfriend is not her father. How can I bring my daughter to Russia with us? Someone told me he would have to adopt her but her father will be very upset over this matter and wont allow it. So does he really have to adopt her or is there something else he/we can do?
Thanx Smile

Hmmm that sounds complicated. I think you need a lawyer who specializes in these matters to help you work through the details. That's just my two cents though.

Good luck!

Smile
