I have a visa invitation from the school I have been teaching at for the last few months in St Petersburg, but the company is based in Moscow and my invitation says only Moscow on it. I didn't think this would be a particular problem but an agency I just called said i will have to get a new business invitation, which will be very difficult now as I am flying back in less than two weeks. If I go ahead and get the Moscow visa does anyone have any idea if I'll have problems at passport control or registering it? I am a British citizen by the way.

Thanks very much

The invitation should state Moscow and St Petersbourg. Many companies are based in London, and to be on the safeside it would state Moscow, St Petersbourg and London.

Now agencies are known to make mistakes, but I personally don't think you have been given the wrong advice in this case. Try more specialist forums such as http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewforum.php?f=20
or http://www.expat.ru/forum/teachers-discussion-folder/

I support these forums, just as I support this forum on the relevant travel information.

And I really do hope that I am proved wrong in this .Let the first poster in any of the forums prove me wrong in this case, and I will be very happy in this case.

So for the moment, you need this invitation to include St Peterssbourg, but perhaps if you have had your accepted through the Embassy you applied to, you might just get away with it. By the way, is it a well known school? Such as BKC, LL, or dread I say it EF Sad

Thanks a lot for responding. Everything turned out fine and I got my visa today, with both St Petersburg and Moscow on it. The school called the embassy in London and explained that they had made a mistake, and sent them a letter backing up my application as well. Given past experience I´m surprised they were so cooperative this time, but there you go!
