Hi,

I plan to go from st petersburg to beijing by train through mongolia. I'm on my own and i want to make stop overs in different russian cities.

I will get a tourist visa. I already have a support letter and a voucher. But the voucher describes a one month stay in st petersburg meaning i will exit russia from this city.

So i have two questions :

1/ Is the registration at the OVIR made in saint petersburg ok for the all trip ? (i read in previous questions that the police could not determine if you were in a city for more than 3 days)

2/ Do you think i can have problems at the russian mongolian border with that kind of visa and voucher ? What can i do to avoid difficulties ?

Thanks.

GLOB.

1) Officially, you need to register in every city you stay longer than 3 working days, however, as you said nobody can determine whether you stayed 3 days or longer. If you stay in a hotel they will register you, however the most expensive ones only. Otherwise, contact a local office or a representative of your visa support company to register your visa.

2) No problem --- just make sure the registration stamp is until the date that is on or later than the date you will be crossing Russian-Mongolian border.
