Hey!
As you know, I'm going to Russia on May with my mom.
Afterwords, I'm going to travel around Europe with a friend for 2 months, and he is willing to visit Moscow, which I wouldn't have problems to visit twice!
The only question I have is about the visa: would I have to get 2 visas?, is it too difficult? |

Aren't business VISAS harder to get than tourist visas?...
It may be a "pain in the ass" trying to get the business VISA, and I'd rather apply for a tourist VISA if it's going to be too much trouble.
Thanks for your help David. |

no, if you get the invitation through this site, a business visa is as easy as a tourist one. I got my multiple entry business visa like this.
At the Russian embassy, as long as you have the invitation and you pay the fee, they'll deliver the visa without problem |

That is awesome.
Is the "fee to pay" higher when you apply for a business VISA?
Thanks a lot! |

| About the fee, you need to ask the Russian embassy in your country, but usually yes, the fee is higher for a double-entry visa than for a single one. But the money you pay there avoids you some troubles there... |

Hi everyone,
I am hoping to go to Russia for my honeymoon in Aug. or September. I'm trying to figure out some things. I understand there's a whole lot of red tape to get things done and so far, it seems as if doing your homework is the best way....
From the looks of it, I need to get a business visa. I need first of all an invitation letter. A previous post states you can get one from this site. Is that correct? Can someone post a link where I can apply to get an invitation letter. I've surfed through the site and I can't find it. Maybe there's another term? or a synonym for something?
Also, can someone tell me if these are the right steps to get one?
A. Get an invitation letter from this site
B. Submit it to the Russian Embassy with application and fee
C. Wait about a month
Thank you very much.
Any other information is greatly appreciated. I've never been to Russia and I'm pretty excited. |

Hey, this link might help you
http://www.visatorussia.com/russianvisa.nsf/tourist_visa_support.html
and what concerns to the red tape, let me tell you, i am actually living in Moscow, already for 1.5 years. At the consulate, the russian staff is not to picky on to whom approve or deny a visa. I have applied twice for russian visa, i got to the consulate, showed my invitation, asked me a couple questions and...and done...pay the appropiate tariff, and that is it.
and yes, your procedure is correct, the invitation is the very first step.
by the way, are you american? |

Thanks for your reply. I ran into that site a while back. I'm not American. I'm from Guatemala. I don't expect anyone in here to know what Guatemalans should do.
However, I have soooo many questions. I will definitely email you. Perhaps this discussion here can help others though.
Thanks in advance.
In short, i don't like the idea of a tourist visa bc it requires me to make reservations from abroad, which is more expensive. Besides, I would like more flexibility and go where I please once i'm there. I would much rather have a business visa, but I wonder if it's even possible.
Thanks again. |

Got an easier way.
Will stay longer in Russia (29 days), and my mom will arrive there after my friend goes home...
That will kick ass. |
