Suggest send flowers to her address and ask for a photo to confirm that is the actual person and the address is legit.
Also google her name, email, and photo on the internet.

The idea of asking for a pic with the flowers is excellent. An address in A/YA is not a real address: it's a rented postbox, commonly used by scamers (and legitimate business for convenience).
By experience, I can tell you it is possible that a 2 week exchange of emails and phone calls has caused very strong feelings. But if you haven't talked to her on the phone, then I really doubt she's sincere. I know very well a case of a young Russian woman basically quickly falling in love with a voice (and the sense of humour and wits coming with it) weeks before loving the whole person. But if it's only emails, the more she can feel is a strong interest.

It has been said already but it cannot be repeated too many times: don't send any money. Let me rephrase:
DON'T SEND ANY MONEY.
Hope for the best but be ready for the worst.Good luck.

The respected bugler41

For some Russians it is business, unfortunately.

The mentality of the foreigner differs from Russian. Foreigners are sometimes too trustful.

Be cautious with such acquaintances.

As already wrote above A/YA (абонентский ящик or АЯ № ______)
It simply mail box in post office

If the woman for any reasons not speak with you by phone, quite probably, that it and not the woman, and the man.

Good luck to you. Smile

Excuse for my bad English. Embarassed

It would make an entertaining TV travel documentary though: "Naive Western dude travels to Russia to meet 2 metre gorilla!" Very Happy

The same values that russians use western men as bank o mat, pushes foreign men to use Russian women as prostitutes.

It is a shame that a country with quite of few intellectual ladies being pushed this way.

Hi again,
good luck on finding a nice person. It's good that you didn't fall into this scam.
But if the next person gives you her phone and address, don't be paranoid because the IP is in Moscow. I would guess that if someone writes from mail.ru or yandex.ru for example, it could be normal.
Anyway, there isn't much to follow up on this one. You can even already block her or his email address to avoid wasting time giving explanations.

SMTP (mail.ru or yandex.ru) usually writes a client's IP-address. This one can belong to ISP in Moscow or Samara.

Most scammers (professional ) use a program called "The Bat" to disguise their address.
