Okay, so Im not really a student...

But I can't afford this 90 days in/90 days out routine or boarder runs on a 3 month Business Visa. I don't need a work permit as my income is earned under the table. I just want long term stay, and a student visa appears to be the key! So, who do I pay, how much should it cost and how long will it take?

I know for a fact I won't be the first one taking this route!!!

Sorry, I should add:

Presently in SPb on 3 month Business Visa with one month remaining. Hope to obtain replacement visa in Baltics, Finland or Ukraine.

I don't know who you could bribe for this. I'd recommend you start working your way through the Russian language schools in St Pete, asking about the cost of their minimum program (probably 6 or 8 hours of lessons per week). That's going to work out quite expensive, but at least your Russian will improve a lot...
