Speaking of films, does anyone know if there's a place online where I can download episodes of Бригада? I'm learning Russian, and I've been told it might be an entertaining way to listen to it spoken.

Hmm... seems like all they have to offer is the soundtrack.

I've tried Kazaa but it didn't work...

I have it and it works.

Thanks! I'll try it. I just downloaded something called Edonkey, but I haven't unpacked it yet and I don't really know the difference between the two programs. I guess I'll figure it out just by playing around.

Night Watch story was written by very talented author, Sergey Lukjanenko. But in my opinion, there are some more interesting books written by him: "Shadow", "Labyrinth of mirrors" for example.

I saw Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) too, I liked it a lot.
Do you know when the sequal is coming out or if it already did?

Off that list from the first post my favourites would have to be Иван Васильевич меняет профессию, Ирония судьбы или С легким паром!, and Белое солнце пустыни.

I think they have sold it to Hollywood to make an English Version.
It would so cool if there was a cultural section, so we can know what is going for movies and music.

Have Hollywood ever made a better remake of a foreign film?

I don't think they have, but then again remakes are almost never as good.
The only good remake (even non-foreign) i can think of is Ocean's 11.

I was wandering about sequals in russian....cause i heard that Night Watch was only the first part of the first book...and i think there are 3 books.

Did they sell the first one? or the story for the sequals to hollywood?
That would be too bad if they are continued in hollywood....taking away the first russian LOTR caliber movie...that would have evolved into at least 2 more.
