Hi,
I´m from Brazil and I have a friend that lives in Vologda.
So, I have a mobile number of my friend but I´m not getting to call to my friend by Skype. The Skype show the message "call failure".
For example:
I´m typing in Skype +7 XXXXXXXX, where XXXXXXXX is 10 digits of the mobile phone.
It´s correct? Do it have exists any code before the mobile number?
Thanks for help ! |

Maybe your friend gave you a number starting with 8? Drop the 8. It's the code to call outside your city.
Mobile phone numbers normally start with 9.
So you should dial +79...
There is also a possibility that the phone has a landline number (transferred to the mobile).
In this case, since the city code for Vologda is 817, you should dial +7817. |

gaijin, thanks for your answer but I can´t to call to Vologda, Russia.
I tried by diferents forms. For Example:
The his mobile phone is 8927835558.
I tried:
+8927835558
+7927835558
+88927835558
+78927835558
+78178927835558
+88178927835558
+781792783558
+881792783558
I think that exists any code that I don´t know how.
What is wrong? I really don´t know how.

I think you're a number short. This:
8927835558
should be 11 digits. Once you have the full number, you leave off the 8, so it would be:
+7 927 8355 58X. |

I know this question is also in the talk lounge, but you did not mention if your friend has skype. If not, then that is the reason for the failure. Also, a mobile phone is not going to work with skype if you want to talk free. You need a skype number. Not positive though, I know most mobile phones won't work on skype. It has to be separate or a business phone.
It is +7-xxx-xxx-xxxx. The code for Russia is +7 and 10 digits. If you have not done so, then open the main window in skype and use the lower left pane where the flag is with the arrow down, by the blue box, scroll down and you will see the code for Russia. |

I agree with gaigin and greg222. Don't use the 8 immediately following the country code, this is only used in Russia. You have a digit missing somewhere in the sequence.
As this topic is running in two forums I'll lock this thread to avoid confusion as much as possible. |
