What happened to joeshik? He never came back to his own thread.

Anyways, I think Russian girls are both sexy and pretty. Just look at female Russian tennis players and you'll get my drip.

Russia has produced some of greatest scientist, poets, authors, musicians, villains, heros, generals, actors, and historical figures in the whole world, but most you get on this thread is that Russian girls are beautiful and according to Melissa, Russian guys also.

This is deep intellectual conversation. Let us a define a whole nation based on what a nice ass they have. Forget Pushkin and Tchaikovsky or the breath taking mountain near Barnaul, really you visit a country to get laid. Too pathetic to get laid in your own country or you just too shallow.

I agree with Paul Holmes.

The majority of foreigners on this site only come here because they are interested in getting laid with Russian girls. They disguise themselves as people being genuinely interested in Russia when they are not. It's a shame really, because there is a lot more to Russia than just the women, and for the record, Russians are very nice people, except for the ones like that moron Ender.

Anyway, it's good to see that that this site is still filled by those guys who can't get girlfriends in their own country and who constantly scour the internet looking for some unlucky Russian woman.

Some things never change. Wink

The opinion in the world about Russian tourists is not good (to say the least). See e.g.
http://www.kyivpost.com/news/opinion/op_ed/detail/35354/print/
and

Individual Russians are ok, but as a group something happens what makes them disliked. I also never saw as much pushing of people who want to leave a plane as in a recent flight with Ural Airlines.

Взаимно, козлина. Хотя не знаю чем я тебе досадил, но если ты обзываешь незнакомого тебе человека, то думаю папа с мамой тебя плохо воспитывали.

Do you mean "losers"? Don't think that other people are like you.

I don't, I'm just commenting on the jerks like you. It's a shame their only interest in Russia is to get laid, and as this thread reveals, they stick out like a sore thumb.

You mentioned in one of your posts about your "VIP-styled white leather armchair". Now if that doesn't let us know how much of a twat you really are, Ender, then I don't know what does.

I wonder, how does name-calling enhance the value of this forum? I think of the forum as an information resource for people who have questions about travel to Russia, or are generally interested in Russia. What kind of information is this name-calling? To whom is it useful?

I didn't read any statement about 4Ever's background, but from language usage, I think it likely that his cultural and educational background is British or American. If 4Ever is indeed Russian, then I salute his fluency, and apologize for my misinterpretation.

Personally, when I (US born and raised) am in Russian-speaking countries, I remember that I am the Barbarian: the outsider, with a small and imperfect understanding of their family histories, life experience, culture, education, and world-view.

I see that 4Ever has posted some references to racist statements by Ender.

From my small personal experience, it appears to me that probably a large proportion of Russians and Ukrainians hold views about race and ethnicity that would be considered intolerant, bigoted, rude, offensive, or shocking by many, many millions in my country. The conversations from which I have gotten these impressions have been with people who were generally very kindly, well-educated, fairly open minded, and in the broadest meaning of the term, politically progressive.

It happens that during my lifetime, my homeland has done a lot of "homework", including some very painful conflicts and deeply uncomfortable soul-searching, on the matter of ethnic relations and attitudes. I am proud to say that I believe that my country has grown farther in this dimension, than probably any other. Through different paths, and in different ways, Western Europe and various former British colonies have also developed progressive attitudes along these lines.

In practice, this means that when I travel anywhere else, I am journeying "backwards" when it comes to relations among ethnic groups.

Certainly, not all Russians or Ukrainians believe that Jews are primarily responsible for their problems, that the various ethnic groups from the Caucasus are predominantly criminal, that Serbia's ethnic cleansing was justified, that you can recognize Jews from their unpleasant odor, etc. etc. I have no wish to practice bigotry myself, by putting hundreds of millions of people into one category! No individual Russian truly speaks for his entire state or people, any more than I can speak for all Americans.

What is on my mind, is that in my country, such ideas seem to be held mostly by people who are fairly ignorant, and who (thank God!) make up a fairly small percentage of the population; and most people understand that even in you believe such things, it is not polite to say them! Whereas in the Russian-speaking world, such ideas seem to be more widely held, and not only by the poorly educated. And people are not shy about giving voice to them.

I could easily dismiss these intelligent and thoughtful Russians and Ukrainians as racists. My preference is to want to understand how they came to their beliefs, and to engage in civilized dialog. For example, to me Serbia's recent history of ethnic cleansing is absolutely repugnant, and morally depraved. Without doubt, a very great number of Russians see Serbia as an innocent victim of foreign intervention, and seem to be blind or indifferent to these ghastly crimes. That good people come to these conclusions, can teach me something about how they understand the world -- their own histories of justice and injustice, of repression and tolerance, of dignity and humiliation, of daily stresses and endurance.

I came here (to this life, and also to this forum) in order to learn. If I can share something I learned, it is a great satisfaction.
