Hey,
I'm in Thailand for the moment. I have tzo months left before I have to be home (Belgium) and I want to go home with the Trans Siberian Express.
The first thing I have to sort out is a visa for Russia. Where can I best do that. Here in Thailand or in China (Hong Kong or Shangai).
And what about the invitation. I found out I can get it on-line but how will I be able to get the orginal copy since I'm not home.
I hope you can help me out.
Thanks a lot
Sofie

Dear Sofie, you could try with a copy in Shanghai. Actually, I would recommend you first to try with a copy in Thailand and if it doesn't work, ask the visa support agency to re-issue another invitation for Shanghai. If you order it through this site, they'll do it for free (the re-issue, if the first one doesn't work). Keep in mind though, that if you require originals both in Thailand and Shanghai, you might spend a lot of money on post.

I've have applied for my china visa today. That is already one out of the way. Two to go...
I have another question regarding the russian visa. Is it correct that WayToRussia can supply me with an invitation for the visa without me having to book anything advance (like trains and hotels)?
If I understood it right I just have to give you a the date that I would be entering Russia and then I get 30 days...
Is it possible to buy the train tickets along the way or do you have to plan and book everything in advance when you start the trip?
thank you for your answer.
Sofie

Yes, it's correct: you get the invitation without having to plan anything in advance.

Regarding the train tickets and other arrangements: it will surely be possible to purchase it as you go, however, if you want something specific sometimes you will have to wait for a few days before you can get it.
