I was surfing around and found this forum. I like your forum, so I decided to stay for awhile. Very Happy

Anyway, just thought I'd point out a few things.

When most foreigners look at Russia and Russians, they see the Red Square, the Cathedrals, Christ the Saviour's; Isaak's; Basil's; etc. European Russia, basically.

What you do not see, are beautiful buddhist temples in Buryatia, Tyva, and orthodox churches and monasteries all over that big piece of land on the other side of the Ural Mountains. This is the Eastern side of Russia. It is Siberia. It is my ancestral home, even if I do not live there right now. It is where Russia's Asian half of her ancestry is allowed to flourish. Where many different peoples live at peace with each other. It is a wonderful place. I just want Westerners and others to know that Russia has much more to offer than just Moscow and Piter. We do not have so many fancy hotels, but we have amazing nature, environment. I think a good start was when, after Peterburg and Moscow, finally, Krasnoyarsk got to host an 'Amazing Race' episode. Some publicity, at least. Razz
