I've been calling friends from Moscow and Chita since 2005 using phone cards and I noticed the connection has been consistently regressing year over year, even with different phone cards. I'm not sure if it's my phone service, but I'm using one of the biggest phone service providers in Canada (Bell Canada).

Back in 2005 I was able to keep a connection for literally hours, sometimes crystal clear and other times kind of faint, but nonetheless the connection would last as long as I had minutes on my phone cards. Then in 2007 I noticed I was only able to talk only 1 hour a day before the connection automatically disconnects and then I wouldn't be able to connect again no matter how many times I try.

In 2008, 45 minutes was the max, and since 2009 I get maximum 30 minutes. It's EXACTLY 30 minutes now, no more since I've been keeping track of every call. I know it's not a card issue since I have tried literally a dozen cards with the same problem.

What could be the cause? Is anyone else having problems? I call primarily to friends living in Chita and sometimes in Moscow but the connection time limit is the same.

Not very clear the problem itself. On arrival buy a local map communication and everything will be fine! Communication on certain tariff plans may be limited to 30 minutes for each connection, but then you can type again and say another 30 minutes. When you are roaming the conversation may be limited due to the fact that the provider does not deduct more than a certain limit. So he is protected from fraud.

I don't have an answer, only my own experience...

I recently used a mobile in Moscow (with a Beeline card) and experienced an abrupt cut-off of my conversation. The phone showed that the call lasted 30:00 minutes. Obviously, there is a timer somewhere!
