I`ve got a very basic question Smile

I dont understand very well the system of transsib...

this summer i want to go from moscow to ulan bator, but i would love to make some stops, in novosibirsk, irkutsk and so on. i`ve read, that this is getting more and more expensive when you make more stops.

but here on this site you can buy tickets as much as you like (normal train tickets, on the start site, on the right side "train tickets") and when i go from moscow to ulan bator with 5 stops, the price is 350. but the question is if the accept this in russia or if the didnt let you get on the train???!!!! does anybody know anything about that????????? or do you have to buy a ticket especially for the transiberian???

thank you very very much!!!

Smile

You can't break your trip, you must buy a ticket for each part if you want to stop.
Transsiberian is a "normal" train in the russian network.
You can buy tickets on line by several means: the official site rzd (you can click the "eng" tab) If you read and write russian use the russian version (and a virtual russian keyboard to type), though they often do not accept foreign credit cards (well, not mine...) for payment.
Or the several agency that will will sell to foreigners, including WayToRussia; I found this one too: pulexpress
You will have the choice of 3 classes, first and second are "kupé", 2 or 4 bunks cabins, and third class is "platskart", bunks in a carriage.
Platskart iz OK for a couple of nights, but can be harder for the whole trip.
