overseas_expat VIP Joined: 11 Jan 2005 Posts: 741 Location: Moscow	Posted: Fri Oct 15, 2010 9:44 am    Post subject: Current Russian visa regulations are that the applicant may only apply for a Russian visa from their home country, or from a country in which they have the right to reside for more than 90 days. (I'm fuzzy on how an American is "living" in China on a tourist visa?) But anyway, if you have the paperwork to prove that you are legally in China for more than 90 days you should be able to get a Russian visa there. I have also heard that Americans have success getting Russian visas in Hong Kong. Probably have to go through an agency. This question pops up often enough. Let us know how it goes with the visa.

Apparently one can do this for 2 years. Anyway im now in hong kong i just recieved my russian visa and will head back to beijing in a few days. i should be heading out on the trans siberian in about 1 month thank you for your advice
