|
|
Hello,
I would like to know if there is a big market in St.Petersburg, where antique items are sold. I?m not interested in antique shops situated in the center and are ment for the tourists. The same kind of antique staff, that is sold in the Old Arbat in Moscow, but in St petes and for a more reasonable price.
Also I woluld like to know which markets, are the most popular ones amongst the local people.
Hope you get my point and I'm thankful for every answer,

I am not sure if this is what you are lookin for, but:
We visited this month on a big market place called Юнона. There was lots of old stuff, sold by locals (?) Some of them even antique, I guess? There is also lots of electronics and CD:s. I bought this great keyboard with cyrillic fonts and many unique cd:s russian popmusic.
The best way to get there is to go by metro to Автово-station and from there a is yet a little drive by bus.
We visited also another market-place wich was near metrostation Звездная. There was sold mainly clothes.
and day after tomorrow I go by train from Finland to Saint Petersburg again. Yes! |

Yeah, "Yunona" it's a great place
And amongst local people popular thing is a hypermarket such as "Okey", "Lenta" and so on... They've replaced traditional markets. |

Our trip to Saint Petes is ower We had a great time, mostly in the Vasiljevski ostrov. There were many nice little restaurants and so on. We did not have so much time for shopping, but visited though the market place in ladoshki voksal. The stores were mainly closed on new years day and in the hotel breakfast started at 11.30 ! But that was okay for us . |

Where in St Petes are the decent markets located? I am not talking about the overpriced crappy ones in the city centre like the one by the church of spilled blood. I am talking about the ones the average russians would go and visit. I am looking for a few t-shirts and stuff like that for myself and friends back in Aussie. All the city ones seem to have is matrioska's and stuff like that and I got enough of those things on my last trip. Can one of you locals like camrade or anna recommend the good joints. What I am looking for would be the address, what metro stop/bus route it is near/on and what sort of stuff they contain.
Cheers

Just beware - Aprashka (Apraksin Dvor, just to the south and east of Gostinny Dvor) is known for having even more pickpockets than most markets. |
