I would like to see the remnants of the old Gulag complex, the cemetery and some of the abandoned mining settlements to the North of the city. I'd like to know if anyone has visited Vorkuta before and can you point me in the right direction to finding these places? I'm aware the city is quite vast and the bits that even seldom attract visitors are quite far out. Perhaps someone here lives or knows somebody in Vorkuta who would be willing to help? Can anyone tell me anything about the city? I'm struggling to find much about the city as it is. I'd really appreciate help or information! Thanks!
