Spartacus, I judge his intelligence from what i've seen. I don't care if he has an MBA or can fly a fighter jet....that doesn't make him smart.
He has made so many stupid comments that there is a term for them..."Bushisms". It doesn't take a genius to see that he's a dumbass.
Here's a couple:
"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it." —George W. Bush, July 27, 2001
"Do you have blacks, too?" —George W. Bush, to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Nov. 8, 2001, as reported in an April 28, 2002, Estado Sao Pauloan column by Fernando Pedreira, a close friend of President Cardoso
When your president says crap like that it reflects poorly on the whole country. |

It is obvious that the job of President would be easier without a political opposition. It is a simple statement that encompasses the complexities of trying to get things done when you have ankle-biters trying to slow you down. Smart people can wrap up big ideas in simple terms.

I somehow doubt that Brazil quote. Bush knows more about latin and south america than most people.
******
Generally, the most recent big-shot democrats have all been sleazy lawyers, who are known to be slick talkers, even when they manage to avoid saying anything. Bush is not a lawyer, he never made his living trying to BS the general public. Public speaking skill is not a direct indicator of intelligence nor education. Listen to a used car salesman sometime. |

Wow, I leave the forum for 1 week & my post turnes into a Bush-bashing post.
Ok, as previously posted in this post I remarked that I have no right talking about other peoples governments because I don't know all of the dynamics as to why they elected their leader, in other words what is important to the average person.
Here is why I voted for my beloved non-socialist President Bush.
1) He is not a socialist
2) When he says something there is no doubt that the world believes he will do it, ie.... disarm & "prove it" like the UN said, but is too weak & filled with money grubbing snakes in the grass, to do anything about it, or I will come & kick your ass.
3) As to intelligence, I would rather have INTEGRITY than a "book-smart" loser who bases all of his "ideas" on theory rather than history. In other words If u don't know your history u are doomed to repeat it, & to take it a step further; PASSIFICITY does NOT work. The dutch & germans are finding that out right now.
END OF HISTORY LESSON. |

| I disagree with your respect for history. Sometimes people learn history and intentionally repeat it. Saddam Hussein had admiration for Stalin and emulated his techniques to stay in power. |

And it could be argued that Saddam was the greatest modern day leader in the middle east. You have to take it in context. |

| Uday is correct in terms of power and leadership. However, I never postulated it either way, good or bad. What is true is that the catchy phrase about history has no causality. |

Torturing people until they are too afraid to not kiss your a$$ is not leadership.
The greatest leaders in the Middle East were the leaders of Israel during the war of 1947 and 1968. For non-jew leaders, look to Anwar Sadat, who did the right thing and got killed for it. |

Everyone, we have some amazing writers here, I personally think we need to start up a website strickly for debating.
I don't think one exist, I think it would be a great hit, getting sponsers should not be a problem.
The reason i think it would wk is no other subject has been responded to as much as this one, also we have some pretty passionate, funny, and articulate writers,
PM me w/some ideas |

Even more Bushisms:
"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country."
- George W. Bush
"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."
- Governor George W. Bush
"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."
- Governor George W. Bush
"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."
- Governor George W. Bush
"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB/GYN's aren't able to practice their love with women all across the country."—Sept. 6, 2004, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
"I'm honored to shake the hand of a brave Iraqi citizen who had his hand cut off by Saddam Hussein."—Washington, D.C., May 25, 2004
There has been not one but two books, a calender and countless websites and collectors of "Bushisms".I heard threre is even a computer game called Bush's Brain where you try to drop Bush's brain into his head while the computer is reciting Bushisms and it's extremely difficult because all the players are dying of laughter. The man is always great for a laugh.
I met a person online who made a hobby out of studying Bush's
'misstatements' and went as far as to write an entire analysis of them.

| A subtle way to bash Bush...lol. You could also fill volumes on misstatements by Bill, Hillary, Kerry and proably every person in office, or ever will be in office. So, I guess the only way to make sure there is never any more misstatements is to run for office yourself. |
