Cyndy,
You have to edit your waytorussia.net user profile. The photo for your avatar should be very small. Generally 15Kb or less. A pixel dimension of 100X100 is close. Adobe Photoshop or something similar can resize or create a thumbnail for you to upload. In your profile down the bottom is where you can make it all happen.

You can't insert a pic in your signature... only avatar..
| Code: | | Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 120 pixels, the height no greater than 120 pixels, and the file size no more than 20 KB. |

| OK I went ino user profile and did not see anything about images. I don't have a web site either. I understand that I can not include a photo in my signature. Thank you AlicefromMoscow. But I still would like to put Alex's photo where I see a few members have done. Alex is much cuter than Uday, (sorry Uday). What steps do I need to take in user profile to do this? Ido have photoshop so I can edit photos. |

| If you have photoshop, open the image, then go to edit->image size and put in 20X20 pixels, or whatever the allowable limit is. Save as a jpeg, and when they ask for the quality, put in 5, if it's too high a quality the file is too big. Simple as that. |

Cyndy,
You have to log in and then select profile.
Down the bottom of the profile page is a section called "Avatar Control Panel".
There is a line that starts "Upload avatar from your machine" and a browse button next to it.
Click browse and find your re-sized picture. Adobe will tell you the size. Alice from Moscow's post has the instructions for required size for the photo.
Hit "Submit".
Go to the forum and check out one of your posts, the picture should be there, or create a test one and see.
If nothing is there, make sure you didn't get a size error after hitting "Submit" or that the address of the avatar includes the actual photo files name....
Regards

| Well I followed these steps making sure the photo was less than 20KB and pixels less than 100 x120. The photo downloads but nothing is shown. The download takes about 30 seconds and says done? I will ask my neighbor Dimitri who is a computer professional to try and help. Dimitri is originally from Ukraine and his wife Larisa is from Kazakstan. |
