| Quote: | | I think Yushchenko's biggest problem is going to be Julia Timoshenko! She is, in my opinion, completely out of control. She relishes in insulting and causing problems with Russia and she poses a direct threat to Yushchenko. But the Orange platform had no agenda - it was simply "we're not Yanukovich" as mentioned before. But I think Yushch is a capable politician and a genuinely decent guy. He'll work out the kinks in Ukraine, but he needs to unburden himself of Timoshenko first. She's going to derail his administration otherwise and end up alienating Ukraine from both Russia and the West! |
All that considering that she proved to be an astute power hungry oligarch before she went into politics. And she is tipped to replace Yushchenko when he's done. She wants that seat, and from what you say, shes out to get it.
And I don't think she's pissing off the Russians or the fact that because of her shady past dealings in Russia, the Russians want her in for questioning as she refuses to go. And she has done some good in cutting down on coruption and the lopsided barter system going on in Ukraine.
Vic: what do you think of her?
You gotta admit, I do like the traditional hairdo that she sports:

You're partly right, Yanukovich was involved in some crime 'dubious' things (however he wasn't thug) but he wasn't idiot like George W. Bush. He was supported by eastern parts of the country cause he was from Donetsk which is famous as an industrial center of Ukraine. Moreover Yanukovich was head (as I remember) of this region and local people wanted him to rule the country.
Yushenko was supported by West (Europe and the U.S.) and demonstration on Maidan was well-organised and prepared. |

I once more apologize for my absense
The weather here in Sukhum is great and I had trouble making it a point to visit the internet cafe, besides, I am have gotten into the "Southern way of life" waking up at 13:00 and taking a nap during the day and falling asleep at midnight
I will be back in Moscow on the 15th, in time for Casey's arrival - so don't worry!
Timoshenko is a mess. She is a revolutionary, she can make a revolution, but she cannot control a government after it is complete. Yes, she is power hungry...very.
E - for 40+ years of age, she is pretty attractive. That is the only positive thing I can say about her

| I trust Putin in restoring a strong central power in Russia. But a strong russia has often been bad news for its neighbours... |
