foreigner can't be integrated into russian culture etc. To understand humour and to integrate you should be born in Russia and live in Russia... And there are no other ways...

What about fellow Slavics? It seems to me that Russians are, how do you say, pokrewne dushe? You only have to compare Polish zarty with Russian anekdoty to see.

Not that I have any desire whatsoever to be Russian, try to be Russian, integrate myself into the culture, claim to have a Russian soul etc.Definately not after the Polish nation struggled against Russification throughout two centuries, the partition, World War Two and communism.

Бред, товарищ, полный бред. As I said, I know several people who ARE very well integrated, and have a very thorough understanding of Russian humor. Of course, those people will never have an identical outlook as a native born Russian, but it's naive to think that there aren't foreigners who are capapble of understanding and integrating.

You just haven't met people like this. Shame really, because their experience is equally as rich and interesting as native Russians' is.

Really dumb joke...

A kid goes to his mother and asks "Am I Jewish or Russian?" and she says "You are Jewish, like me ".

He goes to his father and asks "Am I Jewish or Russian?".The father says "You are Russian, like me.Why?"

"Because a boy downstairs is trying to sell me his bike and I don't know whether to bargain with him or smack him in the face".

(Also works for Jewish-Cygan and Russian-Cygan; just substitute "bargain" for "steal it")

I've just made a page on the subject. My favorite humorists are Mikhail Jvanetsky, Mikhail Zadornov, Arkadiy Raykin & Evgeniy Petrosian.

Zadornov is funny, but his anti-Americanism gets really tiring. I find Maxim Galkin funny, too, but he does the same impressions over and over again. My personal favorite is Klara Novikova. Very Happy
