| I think my favourite musician right now is Jamie Cullum -- a hip jazz guy from the UK. I've been listening to his CD for months and I'm still not bored of him. |

| That's a tough one, I like so much music. If I had t choose one, I guess it would be Metallica. They're music has always been there when things were tough, and they put on one hell of a live show. |

Right now it's Пикник http://www.piknik.info/
I saw them perform in Moscow this summer at the Крылья rock festival. The biggest band at this festival was definitely Ария many of whose fans had written
Punk is not dead, мы вечны!
on their shirts or jackets.
Listening to Russian musicians is a great boost to leaning the language when books get too boring. Try http:/www.rusradio.ru/ |

Punk music is directly related in its popularity with government in power. Bet time for Punk rock was during 80's with Thatcher and Reagan. The band that open up the stage for Nirvana was Husker Du. Kurt Kobang even admited to it. I got see Kobang in Edmonton when he was touring his "Bleach " tour.
Looking at Russian music, there is no real punk rock scene at all. With the rise of nationalism, I wonder if bands like Screwdriver, White flag and White Rider are become popular. Someone gave me a screwdriver album once. It makes a great frisbie. |

| I've been to various Russian websites and clicked any music links but I haven't read of any related to any punk, alternative or indie rock or metal scene. I am guessing that for most Russians, pop/hip hop/dance and perhaps, classic rock is popular? Except for Britain, a lot of the garage style rock is not popular in European countries. They like rave, techno, rap and the like. I bet I know groups that most Russians would not have a clue about but they would know some classic rock and rap artists I could name. I guess most clubs in Russia play some interesting music but they probably also imitate ones in North America. Except, you're out of luck regarding concerts and concert venues? |

Their last album sucks. totally.
Well song about Moscow is nice, but its not old rammstein, its very different style from what used to be.
And did you read translation of that song?... The whole song is about how bad and corrupt Moscow is. lol
By the way i have a russian variant of song Sonne but all in russian, made by someone else... sounds nice

Rammstein got close to get banned when he was running around with a Sandwich jambed up his ass in Washington DC.
Recently got to KMFDM in concert. Very happy . Plus Ministry. Now if I only get to see Prodigy!!!! |
