Could somebody please ban markhagelin.

He seems to like copying other websites into his postings which completely disrupts the discussions. If we wanted to read other websites, we would go there and read them. He's acutally worse than Winston because he doesn't write his own words, just posts huge diatibes by other people on the New World Order or dozens of newspaper articles about Ukraine.

I don't know about a ban, but I agree that his flooding has to stop.

First, I have not broken the rules in those postings to ban me.

Second, no one says anyone has to read those posts. I have not done it to all my posts, just some of them.

Third, what I put into my posts ie articles from other sites are to back up any arguments or issues I may raise. Or to bring them up for discussion. I do not plagarize them since I give the link and do not claim credit for them.

Fourth, if one censors protected content from one person, you must, in fairness, do it to all and therefore there can be no forum. Let's not censor anyone for content or how they present their material. I have my own way to present some material and just because it doesn't meet someone else's approval should not deny me the right to post it.

Fifth, I haven't done any "flooding". 2 of the 3 topics in which I copy and pasted articles were TOPICS I STARTED. on the 3rd I posted 3 articles 2 on the New World Order and 1 on the possibility of the Ukraine splitting in two.

Sixth, what I have posted has more redeeming social value than Winston's sexual exploits. I am sorry if it is not the sexually explicit material of Winston's which some of seem to like so well.

Seventh, I don't tell anyone what to put in their posts and I don't expect them to do it to me. As long as it goes by the rules, I don't care. Like I said, I have not broken any rules in those postings.

Eighth, there are people who violate the rules ALMOST ALL THE TIME by insulting others or by having questionable content and those indiviudals have not been banned, and one who was banned was allowed to return.

Ninth, it appears that only some content and not others is socially acceptable even if it is not material which can cause someone to be banned. This type of "political correctness" limits free intellectual thought and limits discussion to a narrow focus. All of the information which I posted is relevent to current events affecting the Russian people.

I think he is just asking you to make them more concise so he can actually read them. Hyperlinks without posting the article would be better and also I would get a chance to examine other articles. I am sorry, Mark, but your quotes are SO HUGE, that it is hard to read the whole thing. I mean the size of your quotes are intimating.
I think no body wants you banned, but if you want people to read your view points then you may consider to be more concise. Understand?

Yes, Mark, I agree with Dr Fauste -- posting hyperlinks would be enough, and, of course, your comments to the articles. This way people will be able to see what the article is about, click the link (if they want), read your comments to the article, and reply if needed. Otherwise, it works in the way that a person sees a huge post compiled of various articles and I think it actually scares off a lot of people.

The problem with hyperlinks:

Sometimes they get changed so someone reading the post later on won't have access to the info.I have found that true even here. Posts from a few months ago are broken.

Some people won't actually take the time to go to the material.

I wasn't putting them in everything I posted. One topic wasn't really supposed to be one for responding to, but to provide information.

Was is this crap anyway, they get bored picking on Winston so they have to find someone else to?

Fine ban me.

Ban Uday and all the other people who have actually violated the rules, with their insults et al..

I didn't violate any rules which I agreed to at this site. And I won't be disrepected as such.

Like I said the majority of articles I posted where in TOPICS I STARTED.

It is no fair to CENSOR me without censoring everyone else. Since I don't post like everyone else I am singled out?

Talk about "political correctness"!!!!!!!!

We are not saying to ban you so please calm down. It is courtesy to keep your posts more concise. YOu can follow with a comment later. But you see 3 page posts, you do not want to read it. I assume that you want people to read your posts? Then tried to reduce the size and less huge quotes. Because Mark I like to read your points, but iyour posts are very big.

Mark, nobody's going to ban you. When I was posting in this topic I was just presenting my suggestions how to make your posts more readable. But really, if you want to continue the way you like -- no problem.

Good point. Mark, I think the original author of the complaint was just being sarcastic. Btw, those articles are from MosNews (i.e. the main news source here) so hyperlinks should be fine for a while. All you need is the hyperlink, the first paragraph or a brief summary so people would have a better idea of what would be in the article. I think it was a good idea what Dmitri suggested - to post the link and then present a brief comment on the article to garner whether there is enough interest for a discussion.

I have the impression that a lot of people here don't like talking about politics unless you state something controversial. The again, I wonder if there really is a lot of Russians posting here yet. I don't understand why Russians don't wish to discuss politics more. It is so crucial, the issues, to their country and if they continue to be apathetic or don't demand positive changes, they will see their country falter further.

I don't think that banning Mark would be a good thing. Everybody has the right to say what he wants. And what says Mark is really interesting.
For example, he's the one who really talk with me for one of my post. I mean, saying something really new.
I agree that posting a huge reference to a site is not a thing to do in a forum.
Maybe you should be more concise. I mean, take only the essential in the texts. I know that's difficult. Especially in politics. But it's important. Why? Because many people don't want to read about politics when it's too long. I understand people who are really bored by long texts. But, what could we do? The most important in a forum, is that the most huge number of people talk. And with differents opinions.
Mark has a different opinion, even if sometimes I don't agree with him. But it's important to get that kind of opinion.

This site is great, and everyone should be really engaged in it. Everyone who wants to talk.

The last time I looked over my shoulder, there was no one there forcing me to read ANY posts! I thought this was a forum for free exchange of knowledge, information, and ideas. A poster should be able to post anything (within the above mentioned rules) that he desires. THAT DOES MEAN EVERYONE HAS TO READ THEM!!!! Shocked I do not think anyone within the rules of this site should ever be banned.

BTW Mark, I enjoy most of your posts. I find them thoughtful and sometimes provoking. However I find myself skimming or skipping entirely after abour 4 paragraphs. Still here and reading in East Texas, DennisF
