Why does Russia suck so bad in International competitions?
They have sacked their coach how many times and yet they lose over and over again. There is so much money thrown at these elite atheletes and yet nothing. |

I think Russia has a good chance to be in World Cup/2006. Portugal is the strongest team in its group and Russia will fight against Slovakia for the second position. The others national teams are weak like Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and two baltic teams. Nowadays, Russia has many foreign players who will help to development its football. We have 12 brazilian players in Russia. The best are Daniel Carvalho e Wagner Love, both in CSKA, from Moscow. Wagner Love is having a wonderfull time there and he likes the city very much. And took his family to live with him in Moscow.
Yeah, Uday. I'm planning to be in Germany/2006 for the Word Cup. |

Actually, Uday, I'll have press credential. I work a sports journalist. The question is if I'll stay at the office like World Cup/2002 or at the games as World Cup/1998, in France. The news paper didn't decide yet. I expect to go. It's too boring stay at office and watch the matches at theTV.
Talking about football, Mr. Vladimir Putin came to Brazil last week and went to Maracanã Stadium, in Rio. He tried to kick a ball but he failed. No skill at all. He's better as president. |

Well, here in Brazil, it works like that: Brazilian Football Federation has a number of press passes for all news papers and magazines of the country. The most important papers get about between 5 and 10 each one. The other 1 or 2. In general, Fifa denies press passes for journalists who works only for Internet. Radio and television have a different way. They have to pay for the transmission's rights. It' s the only way to cover a World Cup.
If you have your own paper, you should ask informations at the football federation. Maybe you get one. And we'll meet at a press center, somewhere, in Germany.
Best wishes. |

Bah...... Football (i.e. soccer). Could someone please explain to me, the fascination with this sport for Europeans?!? I mean, I watched the World Cup but I don't understand all the fuss. I played it as a kid, sure, but as a real popular sport?!? I would take this topic on a tangent towards HOCKEY (the best sport in the WORLD) but aghast, I can't change topics as per the rule! hehe... But, damn it, if you keep up this topic, I will have to create a new topic about hockey (particularly Russian hockey) since there's more to talk about, obviously, than Russian soccer. HAHA. Nananananna...
Uh oh, the cat is out of the bag. I *must* be Canadian, now..... |

Russia was the only team to beat Greece, when Greece won the world cup or whatever..i don't follow soccer much. SO Booyakasha....if their coach wasn't a fool and over practiced them...they would have had a chance agains i think it was portugal?...can't remember..short term memory when it comes to soccer.
Now, since this topic of soccer seems to be dead anyways I'll post about hockey
NHL now stands for No-Hockey-League
I wish I could watch russian hockey..but it's not broadcast anywhere I know.
Anyway I used to play both hockey and soccer ...and soccer was more fun to play I think...but hockey is more fun to watch. |

Yeah, the lockout is another topic and would bore most of the readers. I also played soccer but that was when I was a kid. I still play hockey once in a while. Is there a lot of Russian hockey fans or are they peeved off because most of the stars go to the NHL? I know there have been a lot of changes in Russian ice hockey and IIRC, the Russian government does not fund it like they used to. A lot of the former Soviet Red Army players still refuse to have anything to do with the Russian Federation Ice Hockey group because of how things were in the past. In other words, they hold a grudge. |

Last tour of the champions leagur was very interesting:
CSKA beated PSG in Paris 3-1... Semak made a hat-trick. But anyway CSKA remained on the 3rd place. Vagner Love btw played beautifly
they played extremely well but actually i don't like this club...
I support Zenit St.Petersburg - i hope anyone have heard at least a word about it

About russian national team: 7-1 from Portugal was a disaster... On the next day almost everyone was in a worst mood ever After that a president of RFS Koloskov is going to retire... Why Yartsev did't leave russian team? That's strange.
Anyway we have some chances to qualify... |

Russian Rugby team lost again to Georgia. It is funny how strong Rugby is in the south. The SPB team is run by Hara Christians. |

I've seen. on TV, the match between CSKA and PSG.Vágner Love, as you say, Camrade, played very well and helped Semak to scored. This guy, Semak, is a fantastic striker. If Porto did'nt beat Chelsea, CSKA would be qualifying.
As the russian championship is over now, brazilians players came back. Souza, who plays for Krylia Sovetov, is already in Brazil. He expects to be in Spartak next season. |
