I just received a job offer to teach English in Novosibirsk but I can't seem to find any information on the school. Is there a way for me to check the school? Anybody on this forum actually lives there and maybe knows the place? Please help!

Hi where did you get offer? I would like to teach english or mathematics in eastern europe but its difficult to find a legitimate agency. Can you help me out? im in Texas

Since my original post, I took the job and I’m currently in Novosibirsk, Russia. I found the job through an Internet ad. Try www.eslcafe.com (Job Forums). I would look for something in English rather than Mathematics. There’s a big market for ESL Teachers all over the world. However, keep in mind that countries that belong to the European Community generally won’t hire you unless you hold a EU passport –It’s just too much of a hassle for them. Russia is not EU, so Americans have more of a chance here. (I'm from NYC).

That said, I would check the Internet for ESL options. You can always look around for opportunities to teach Math after you’re already in the country (with visa, paid appartment, health insurance, etc.). Most job offers come directly from schools, not agencies.
