Hi,
This is why you take a photocopy! It's 3 working days...public holidays are not counted, neither are weekends. However, you may get stopped and asked for papers......so you flash your photocopy and say in execrable russian "uvir zakreet". Look like a stunned mullet and you'll be OK.

You or your invitee may, on the other hand, whisk your passport away and try and get it registered.

The choice is yours but you will NOT be "illegal".

Regards

Hey all. I got my tickets on monday. I am all set to go. I leave in 7 days its going to be a very interesting and fun visit. I also found out one guy who i worked with in the summer is also visiting Moscow the same time as me. So i can meet up with him and we can explore together. I have one final question:

Do i have to keep my passport on me at all times?? Or can i make a copy of it and my Visa papers and keep them on me? I dont wanna risk losing it and get stuck in the cold Russia. Write back soon Thanks!
