I've got a friend living in Moscow and I want to visit her. Not really within 2 months, so I have the time for a visa, but I want to stay at her place and not in some hotel. Now I've been searching a lot on the net lately for possibilities, and I found this site yesterday! Have to say it really sounds great.

Still, I am wondering if it truly is the best option to arrange the invitation (so to book) by the partner of this website, but not stay at the hotel, and don't have to pay either, cos is it a legal thing to do or is it not really? Other thing is a private visa, but thats a hell of a job I did read, for her to arrange. And does the ovid or whats the service called again? also want her to have enough money to care about me?

How many people from this board here, have arranged an invitation for a visa by the site and did it all go smooth? and what do you guys advice me?

i have good experience with travelling on a private invitation. it took about a month both times for ovir to issue the invitation after the request and then of course it needs to be sent over by 'slow' mail. as long as you provide your friend with the necessary information it shouldn't be too much trouble though i think..
for a private invitation though it is required (i think) that the inviting party has an income.

Ah thanks!

that means a private visa is out of the question in this case.

Any others with experience for the tourism one? and my other questions Wink
