I've seen many pictures of ordinary Russian women and girls wearing high heels, much more than I'm used to see it in the street here in Belgrade, or elsewhere. Does anyone has a theory why is it so? What about sneakers and sport shoes?  |

| Personally, I think that Russian women are into being more feminine and wearing athletic inspired clothing or shoes in this case is more of a uni-sex type of fashion. That's just my guess...plus sneakers and stuff are pretty casual. |

Either the woman is too short or she is vain or she is a whore. Those include plenty of Russian women. 
High heels are bad for feet. I won't pay my health for 'beauty'. Its just another thing and reason to torture themselves with. |

Skip, I never wore high-heels because I never had paid attention to my outward appearance and the fact that they were so uncomfortable..., and later I sustained a serious foot injury when I fell from the bus steps,, and of course I never wore them anymore.
I still managed to get married to a Russian man who has been confronted by high-heeled clad girls for years.
I rage against the obligation for women to wear high heels. The damn things are so uncomfortable. Why don't they make uncomfortable shoes for men?  |

They do make uncomfortable shoes for men... we're just not daft enough to wear them (at least not outside Canada) en-masse... 
You sound like some Russian woman wearing high heels has severly pissed you off... and it has happened to me as well... but you shouldn't make such a sweeping comment regards high-heeled girls perhaps being whores... not in all truth...
The whores are the ones with their knickers around their ankles and they often seem to have a problem with runs even when not clad in stockings  |

Yes, I am somehow considerably bitter and negative whenever I log onto the WTR forum these days.
Am I the only person feeling that way? : -/
High heeled shoes somehow touched a raw nerve. I just recalled how the alpha-females in high school (umm no pun intended) insist that I should start wearing them and that they looked great on me but hell no, I was never going to do it. I absloutely hate those dang things.
Alice are you going to whack me with a shoe (high heeled or not) now? |

Right-ho! Back to my eBay shopping spree it is then... 
Actually though... it's not JUST the high heels is IT... a fair number of Russian women stroll around in broad daylight looking like they've just walked out of some posh nightclub or something...
I often remarked on it to my significant other when we were last together in Nab' Chelny... and she replied that her friends had a cousin who'd married an Amercian guy and that whenever he came to Chelny he said EXACTLY the same thing as I did...
But I wouldn't go so far as calling them WHORES... not on this board.. even if what I actually said privately to Yuliya might not have been a long way from that sort of general insinuation...
Cheer up Mediashark... long legs, small boobies... so maybe you're better off sticking to pumps (err... no pun intended of course...) |

Nah skip, I go for cowboy boots. I used to ride. My feet never argued with the boots.
Gawd skip, don't lure me into discussing other pieces of clothing... generally I like the way Russian women dress... but in summer it sometimes gets out of hand (or other parts of the body for that matter hehe)
My husband would have slugged you for the last line and for calling me ugly. |

I thought I was going to get in my ear about the pumps... nevermind anything else... perhaps it didn't translate very well...
Yes... lets have a whole topical debate on the state of female undress in the FSU because it is very contrasting to most of the EU (except Belgium...) and I've often wondered why Russian girls are so often scantily clad and dressed to kill at all hours of the daytime... |
