toby1 Frequent Guest Joined: 03 Feb 2005 Posts: 11	Posted: Fri Feb 04, 2005 7:51 am    Post subject: Visa Advice for Australian Hello, My partner and I are planning on doing the Trans Mongolian from Beijing to Moscow in June after which we are planning on moving to London. Hence we will both be unemployed during this time and would basically like to spend as long travelling through Russia as we can afford. Unfortunately looking at Visas, it looks like we have to book every single nights worth of acomodation and plan both the entry / exit dates from Russia. Which really is a very limiting, plus the tour agency we've spoken to here are quite/very expensive. Having looked through your site, it seems that the Australian consulate is quite tough and its quite hard to get any other type of Visa, such as a business visa. Hence I was wondering what advice anyone could offer?? Cheers, Toby

Is this ok/recommendedfor a trans-mongolian trip? Also, we plan on entering russia on the 22nd of June, which means we plan on applying for the visa on the 22nd of March, hence when should we purchase the invitation, now? Finally, what is the best method of delivery - is Telex the best idea? We are planning on applying through the embassy in Canberra, do we get the telex sent there? Or are we better off just to get it faxed straight to us? Cheers, Toby
