No, work permits are another matter. A business visa is not a document that permits employment in the RF.

I'm not expert on that, but if you can get a work permit and a steady job, you probably won't need to bother with the temp residence.

A business visa is simply a means of extended stay in Russia, because under a tourist visa the maximum stay is a few weeks alone. I'd have thought it was fairly obvious from all the posts here to sift through that this was the case.

Business visas are used mainly by tourists, and even babies have been given business visas, they may be used by freelance individuals (like journalists...)genuinely on business in Russia... but, as Mediashark suggests, a business visa is not any form of work permit and will not allow you to secure employment. Shame on you

You need to get your employer to handle any issue regards a work permit and if you first need to attend an interview then you will have to travel to Russia on some sort of visa initially.

I do not think you have the beginnings of any idea of how difficult the matter will prove, how unlikely it is you will secure any (or any profitable...) employment and how extremely unlikely it is that you will find an employer who would then be prepared to converse with you solely in English.
