has anybody experienced visa difficulties when going to Sakhalin? i was thinking of going there, but decided against it because i heard from several peple that there are travel restrictions etc. that can cause problems....

It may be there there are areas on Sakhalin that are restricted. But it's also an indisputable fact that there are many foreigners working there - Americans, Australians, South Africans, etc. I would say that your information is not correct - like much of the negative innuendo about Russia
