Visa invitation and registration in Omsk

I have already met her before in Petersburg where she was a student. When I go to Omsk I want to rent an apartment for us to stay in. I have found a couple of places to do this, but none do visa invitations. I do not want to stay in a hotel as a friend of my girlfriend had a bad experience when she met a western man there. The hotel would not let her up as they assumed she was an escort and they have their own girls for that type of service. Now I know there are lots of companies that could give me an invitation, but I am concerned about the registration. Are there any travel agencies in Omsk that could do both the invite and registration? Also is it easier to have a tourist or business visa if registering in an apartment (assuming I can't find a travel agency who could cope with either) Any advice and recommendations would be welcome Thanks Dave

Get your Girlfriend to make your invitation direct through UVIR in Omsk, that way you can have a 90 day visit... you do not require any form of tourist invitation and where you stay will be mentioned in the invitation paperwork she will provide to UVIR... It's really the best, and cheapest, way...

But it seems to take forever for the invitation to process and the visa to process I heard... You pay for what you get...

sputnik Lounge Lizard Joined: 02 Jan 2005 Posts: 141	Posted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 10:30 pm    Post subject: processing the private invitation will take them about a month in omsk. it's pretty accurate, to my experience. i was there twice before, on a private invitation. then the original invitation needs to be sent to you.. (that's the most tricky part) the visa processing time doesnt differ from other visa types. ovir in omsk is quite relaxed in my opinion and has no long queues. i consider it a good option... unless you have too little time left before the planned date of your visit.
