Thanx. That's a definelty good idea, I will try to find something. I need to start looking 'cause three months are gonna fly by very fast. And I have had a dream that I am coming home and my teacher says that my english didn't improve at all. So she hated me in my dream. That's not good. I need to talk more to people. |

Ok, hang in there. Which city are you in? I think I can get you some of the chasers to pass you some photos and stuff. They probably will ask for a small fee because this is an expensive hobby and no one profits from it (except 1 or 2 people). BTW in the next 3 ymonths you probably have some new photos/videos as the season has already started.
Yes, TALK to people, not just write. If your town is the nice friendly town type where strangers greet each other on the street, then all the better! |

Try a Kansas Tourism web site for pictures, etc. I can recall seeing many shops with such local items throughout Kansas.
If nothing else try taking some Kansas City BBQ sauce back with you.
BTW, how in the world did you choose Wichita? Are you at WSU? |

I am not even in university yet. I am in High School. And I didn't get a choice of where to go when I applied for the exchange program, otherwise I would have chosen California or New Jersey... |

all the foods suggested here are hideously fattening. Empty calories.
I still stick by my suggestion of taking a couple of each brand of candy, though.
You absolutely must take peanut butter. {don't forget some kinda jam}
what kind of gift should a Russian bring to Americans?

I just returned from St Petersburg and can speak from my experience.
The gifts I brought with me from the US:
1) Nice leather wallets for my friend's ladies/wives/moms - they loved it, turned out to be great gifts
2) Nice wool sweaters for men - great gift
3) I bought some Levi's jeans/t-shirts for kids of my russian friends - they loved it, Levi's is still very popular in Russia and is much more expensive than it is in the US
4) Bought some cute toys for kids - they loved them too. You can probably buy them while in Russia, but the selection and prices are better in the US.
5) Funky t-shirts from New York - they liked them, especially the funny ones with F*** words and such. |

Like "Fuck you very much" and "Do I look like a fucking people person?" "New York Fucking City" and "20 Uses of the word fuck" ? I LOVE THOSE! I wish someone would give one to me as a present. |
