Jimbo, I'll have to admit that I was a nay-sayer. Just goes to show that I've been conditioned to accept what's given to me and not try to push any boundaries. Those days are over, as I leave for Germany in 12 days before continuing on to Moscow on 22 August, where I'll be for a year learning Russian at Moscow State University. Your posts and photos were an inspiration. I'm feeling incredibly nervous and, I'll admit, a bit scared right now. The positive experiences being related are a great counterpoint and I'm glad to read them - I'm ready to go.

Glad everything worked out well for you and you got back home safe and sound. Now I'm ready to try Russia - for an entirely new life! Smile

Well, go for it! I'm not sure which university building is near the big park where all the bikers of Moscow meet almost every night, but it was an incredible piece of architecture. I'm sure I'll be back in Moscow next summer again on a motorcycle, although hopefully one mnore suited for the road conditions in Mongolia and Russia. I forgot to mention all my journals of the entire trip are posted at www.advrider.com and search for Trans-Eurasia.
Best of luck to you.
Regds,
Jim
