I'm hoping to have network access in my dorm room, otherwise I'll have to do all my forum posts, all my website work, and everything else offline, then haul myself down to a free (or pay) WiFi hotspot, which I'm not looking forward to. I'm hoping to purchase a handheld (either Palm or PocketPC) as a quick way to get online at free hotspots without having to drag my laptop around all over Moscow. Thanks for the heads up!

If it's a regular Russian dorm room, you'll be lucky to have a phone for dial-up access.

I don't know if that's the dorm I'll be in, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm not too incredibly worried about it, but I prefer to work online rather than do everything offline, then go connect at a hotspot and upload everything, etc.
