If you're asking me, this is the wrong place to ask about business ventures. The bulk of this forum are travellers and first-timers.
The best way is through personal contact, no doubt about that. But sometimes you have to expand all possibilities.
Take a trip to Russia, make a few friends, scout around, have fun, learn how to drink vodka, then think up a plan. |

Renwan,
While I don't agree with your philosophy or communist political view, You are growing on me! You're sincerity shines through!
Capitalism btw does have its flaws just like socialiam and communism. I can understand how someone such as yourself who believes in the old USSR economic structure, would be skeptical about capitalistic ventures and opportunities. It might apper to you as a crime when westernizers import Russian goods and make a healthy profit. But what about Russians? Don't you think it is reasonable for your fellow countrymen and women to have the same freedom and choice to make a profit from their hard work and livelihood? Renwan, trust me, life is hard for people everywhere, perhaps not for the exact same reasons but none the less... |

How do companies hire people in Moscow? advertisement in newspapers? or through people you know?

Hi David,
I hope you still visit this forum. Have you been able to identify items to export from Russia to the USA?
It’s a great idea, and I actually have some free time to explore the options for you on the Russian side. I can dedicate up to 20 hrs a week to do whatever is required.
Let me know what you think by sending an email this address: dnd123@mail.ru
Regards,
Victor |

One thing that is very popular in russia is leather jackets. They are usually imported from Turkey. There are several stores in Brooklyn catering to russian immigrants that sell leather jackets (like "Le Monti") on McDonald avenue. You may be able to buy them in Russia cheaper since they are mass-impoprted and since the tax rules are not always enforced. I don't know if there's a wide market for it in North America, but I noticed that the demand for those jackets at the Century 21 store in Manhattan is rather high (primarily from European tourists, though).
Secondly, you can probably buy furniture or clothes assmebled in russia. Because of a low prices of row materials and labor, it may be worthwhile.
I am not an expert. So, this is just a thought. |
