Have you tried the messaging program Skype? You can do searches for "Russia" or "Russian" and you come up with a great list of online users. There is also a mode called 'skypeme', which means that the user is accepting IMs from people that they do not know. I've found this program really helpful in learning Russian. It supports the Cyrillic fonts. The address is Skype.com.

There are too many Russians in Brooklyn so no chance to practice in English... Smile
