Great site! Nevertheless some disappointing discrepancies.

Sorry, this sentence contains at least 2 mistakes.
The key battle took place in 1380 at Kulikovo field near Don river (this is another part of the country in that time). The victory of russians had not brought independence from Mongols but showed the power of national unity and the growing weakness of Mongol Empire. In 1480 Moscow had claimed its independence and had stoped payments to tatars. |

Actually I'm a representative and political analyst for an American non-gov organization (won't say which, but it's pretty influential in private sectors). Hope that helps!  Though sometimes I can be pretty mean though!  |

| Don't be so defensive Dmitri. WTR is a great site and you should be proud. It's just that the majority of people here first of all are not Russian, and even those who are, while they all have plenty of experience are not exactly historians which was what this partyicular poster questionned. I will agree that there is a good deal of excellent advice for those wanting to travel to RF on this site. I can saY FOR SURE THAT info. on this site and exhanges have been extremely helpful to me in prepRATION NOT ONLY FOR MY UPCOMING VISIT TO spb, BUT giving me aetter understanding. Spasiba Dmitri! |
