Hi

I've been using the excellent 'English Maze' website (www.englishmaze.com) with my Russian students recently. They love it! (Adults and teenagers)

Can anyone else out there suggest websites like the English Maze? (I'm looking for Flash-based, interactive sites, not the ESL Cafe types.)

Thanks

Petr

Go to the source.

Where does the english language come from?

In England, the BBC publishes lots of stuff on the web as well as broadcasting lessons on the radio http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/index.shtml
And they do include interesting news stories in their ESL section with a glossary of terms at the end of the article.

There is another country that is a big user of English. The Voice of America broadcasts and publishes news stories in an expanded version of Basic English called Special English. http://www.voanews.com/specialenglish/ They offer MP3s to download as well as the transcript of the stories and the Special English wordbook which provides English language definitions of the vocabulary that they use.
