It was an obvious flamebait. You have been warned before. |

| Quote: | | You and Xela are on the same side on Chechnya and you were picking catfights with him. Laughing I consider myself a fair person, probably fairer than the majority here.I'm all for hearing an opposite viewpoint and all for a debate, as long as it's on a level of intelligenc |
Except that you make all sorts of unfair and presumptious statements about people without obviously looking at past events and facts which prove you wrong. This isn't the first time i've pointed this out to you before either or you doing this to others.
Such as now: If you look at the pervious posts, I didn't start this one at all. Xela was flaming and baiting Renwan and Casey over Britain and Northern Ireland and I tried to stop it and revert things back on subject to Chechnya, when he went on the attack to me as well. I'm not even going to go into your Vanessa Redgrave comments, that you just recanted upon realizing your mistake.
Case in point: http://www.waytorussia.net/TalkLounge/viewtopic.php?t=3245&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45\

| Quote: | | Can you two create a thread about the IRA, or have this spilt off into the not relevant section so you can continue flaming each other there? This is about Chechnya. Not about The Troubles. |
Interesting to point out that some of Xelas posts here were either edited/and or deleted while mine were left untouched. See the difference?
There is no one "fair" person in here as everyone of the regular users are guilty of being "unfair" to someone else at one point or another. So........ |

There was an article a week+ ago (can't remember where I saw it) that said if Russia could prove their case against Zakayev, the UK would extradite him. Honestly, though, what would his extradition accomplish? Pissing off Basayev and inciting another major terror attack? I'm trying not to even think about it much anymore because it's so damned depressing. |

That's hard to do. No matter what Russia proves, they can't extradite Bassayev because it would violate UK and EU asylum laws. Unless, Russia can prove that no harm will come to Bassayev and that he'll just be thrown in the slammer.
But then, who beleives the Russian government anymore? |

It would set an important precedent that terrorists can't flee to the West simply because they perpetrate terror against Russia, which no one in the West considers valid (few, anyway). I think you mean Zakayev, too, not Basayev. Ol' Shamil is still on the loose killing civilians and shooting the fingers off of captured conscripts. He just gave an interview to Babitsky that was aired on NBC's Nightline!
I don't know enough about Zakayev to make my own decision, but if he's collaborated with Basayev he is a criminal and needs to be punished accordingly. |

I did mean Zakayev. My mistake. And no matter what Zakayev did or does, at this point, unless Russia proves that he'll be treated fairly and wont get the death penalty, the Brits or any other EU state cant and wont send him back.
Only: Zakayev already has an international arrest warrant issued by the Russian government and Interpol years back. But in the interests of intl law, it was deemed null and void. |
