Hello!

I have a tourist invitation that was emailed to me by the company that is recommended by this site. My question is if this emailed invitation will be enough to apply for a tourist visa, or if the original is required.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I would also like confirmation that an original invitation is NOT required when applying for a VISA in the UK (London).

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Ed

Doesn't the original copy of the invitation get sent directly to the Russian embassy?

When I got a 12 month business visa last year(from a British travel agency), I never saw the invitation and I did not know who issued the invitation until I got my passport back with the visa in it.

Wow, this is an old topic of mine Smile

Well back in July I sent off my application with the copy of the tourist invite I got. I was nervous if I would be rejected because I had just printed it out - but I got it! Very Happy

It was just a simple 30 day tourist visa. I am not sure if for other visas you need the original. The only other experience I have is with a 3 month student visa, I assume that was sent to the embassy because I just sent a copy of that as well.

So if you have a tourist visa, I say just send off the copy Razz

Well, after three e-mailed invitations and vouchers, twice from WTR, I can only say that they work a charm. Didn't even change the old ink-jet cartridge in my printer to print them out nicely.

Unlike The Hague Consulate, The Russian Consulate in London doesn't appear to make any difficulties whatsoever for bona-fide tourists. I think they'd issue a visa on the strength of a chip wrapper.

Your mileage may vary, of course.
